U Mumba, a team that looked like unbeatable in the first half of the season in Pro Kabbadi League faced Delhi Dabbangs in their second last game in Benagaluru looking for a win and qualifying for the semi finals. The match seemed to be vey important for the teams as it took off and both the teams gave it their best before Mumbai finally beat Delhi 37-30 at the end of the match.
Delhi though got of to an amazing start as they took full toll of the struggling Mumbai defence and the Delhi team lead 21-13 at half time. The Mumbai team was all out twice in the first half. Every player in the U Mumba tea, except Anup Kumar struggled to get points while the whole of the Delhi team was contributing to the score line.
It was at this point that the Mumbai team brought in the long missing Shabbir Bapu in the line up as a substite. Surprisingly this brought about a change in the body language of the entire team as they seemed to be back in theor long lost form. So much was the change in the fortunes of the Mumbai team that the struggling Vrushank Devadiga also found form and scored raiding as well as defence points.
U Mumba, who started the second half trailing by 8 points started off aggresively, scoring points in both raids and defence. From the 23rd minute to the 35th minute, Mumbai scored 15 points, while the Delhi team managed only 1 points.
Mumbai is still in the second spot in the points table but the win ensured their entry into semi finals. Their captain, Anup Kumar was once again the star o the show as he stole 8 bonus points and played a very important role in keeping them in the game during the initial stages of the game. Hia captaincy was also off the charts.
Delhi is now almost eliminated from the tournament and their performance in the second half will haunt them for a long time.
